1971 Beach Landing Exercise – Memories of Tony Benning Pt.2

(c) Arnd Wöbbeking (c) Photos by Anthony George Benning

This truly rare pictures I also get from Tony. They are founded in 1971 and shows a landing operation at  Southampton Waters! The exercises took part to prepare the 11th Hussars for a deployment to Hong Kong!

So thank you very much Tony!

I’m impressed from this (I called historic pictures). Not only of the River crossing operation, but of the old equipment and the connecting memories also. Hope to see more.

    Thanks

    Hi Tony,

great stuff! I´m totally impressed to see this pictures! I never would have guessed to see pictures like these. Thank you very much and I´m looking forward to the following article of you.

    Hi Antony,
very excellent Photos from the Landing operations with Centurion and Bedford RL. My favorite is picture no. 4 with the two Centurions on a ferry.
Last year we was with our Camper for some days in the new forest. We was on a campsite, who was a former RAF-Airfield, no it´s a heath with free range horses. And we ´ve visited the famous Beaulieu National Motor Museum with the complete James Bond Car Collection. And of course we was in Bovington. For the next year we plan another trip to your famous country.
    Best greetings
    Eckhard “FreeLion” Uhde
